Mission Statement
The mission of the Housing Authority of the City of East Orange is to provide and increase the supply of decent, safe and sanitary affordable housing in an economic
and efficient manner.
The Housing Authority is committed to improving the quality of life for residents and to providing families with economic development and homeownership opportunities.
The housing authority will act to establish and maintain a mutually beneficial partnership with the City.

Public Housing
The Public Housing Authority provides affordable, safe, decent and sanitary housing for senior and disabled community. Financing is provided by HUD.
Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Housing Choice Voucher Program assists individuals and families in becoming homeowners. This is a 6-month program broken down into a series of seven workshops.
Family Self-Sufficiency
(FSS)
A voluntary Section 8 Housing program designed to assist families in establishing independence from public assistance, Federal, State and/or local subsidies.
Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS)
Designed to enhance the lives of East Orange Housing Authority residents through Education, Recreation and Self-Sufficient Gudiance.
