Resident Opportunities and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS)



ROSS (Resident Opportunity Self-Sufficiency) program serves to provide coordination and assess of services and resources within the community for the elderly and disabled Public Housing residents of Concord Towers and Vista Village. The ROSS program serves to promote the development of local strategies to coordinate the use of assistance under the Public Housing program with public and private resources, for supportive services and resident empowerment activities. These services enable participating residents to help improve living conditions and enable residents to age-in-place.
In partnership with outside agencies, these programs are designed to assist residents with transportation, referrals for substance abuse treatment, food pantry referrals, as well as continuous education through on-site workshops.

Congregate Housing Services
This is a state program that provides assistance to frail and at risk seniors in subsidized housing.
The program is designed to aid seniors and disabled residents in maintaining their independence, rather than be cared for in a long-term care facility.
This goal is reached by preventing the deterioration of apartments through housekeeping services as well as the decline in health by providing nutritional meal services, while promoting opportunities for socialization through regular shopping outings.
Other Activities Include: Computer classes, Senior Health Organization Program (SHOP), Bingo, Doctors’ office, Health Seminars, Movie Night,
Coffee Hours, Nutrition Classes, ETC….
